Ingredients
- 125 grams of rice
- 5 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 Bourbon vanilla sugar pod
- 1 liter of whole milk
- 400 ml of heavy cream
- 100 grams of chopped almonds
- 1 jar of cherries
- 1 package of vanilla pudding mix
- 200 ml of water
Preparation
- Place the rice for the rice pudding, sugar, 1 packet of Bourbon vanilla sugar, and 1 liter of milk in a well-seasoned pot!
- Cook the rice over medium-high heat for about an hour, stirring constantly, until the milk has almost completely evaporated.
- Stirring is important here; otherwise, the rice will burn on the bottom of the pot.
- Let the rice cool!
- Drain the jar of cherries and reserve the liquid in a bowl.
- Top up the liquid with water until you have a total of 500 ml.
- Bring the water to a boil, add the pudding mix and 2 tablespoons of sugar, and boil briefly while stirring well.
- Then add the cherries.
- Whip the cream until stiff using 1 packet of whipping cream stabilizer.
- Stir the cooled rice pudding vigorously, then gently fold in the whipped cream. Finally, garnish with chopped almonds.
