Ingredients
- 2 pieces egg
- 1 cup flour (120 g)
- 1 cup milk (200 ml)
- half cup water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 pieces juice of a large orange
- 1 finely grated zest of orange
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- You can obtain a more aromatic dough by using half whole wheat flour instead of white flour.
- You can add a different flavor by replacing part of the milk amount with almond milk or oat milk.
- Using the same amount of clarified butter instead of butter provides a more intense aroma.
- By preferring brown sugar instead of granulated sugar, you can give the sauce a slightly caramel-like taste.
- By replacing a portion of the orange juice with tangerine juice, you can achieve a softer and more refreshing aroma.
- You can enrich the aroma of the dessert by adding a few drop vanilla extracts into the sauce.
- You can achieve a different sweetness by using maple syrup instead of honey.
- Adding finely grated orange peel to the dough gives the crepes a light citrus touch.
- You can make the presentation more stylish by sprinkling flaked almonds or pistachios on top in addition to powdered sugar.
- For a lighter recipe, you can reduce the amount of sugar and balance the sweetness with fruit.
Preparation
- 1. Whisk egg, milk and water in a mixing bowl.
- 2. Add the flour by sifting and stir until a smooth consistency is obtained.
- 3. Prepare a fluid dough by adding melted butter, sugar and salt.
- 4. Resting the 10 minutes dough ensures that the crepes cook more evenly.
- 5. Heat a lightly greased non-stick pan.
- 6. Pour a ladle of batter into the pan and rotate the pan to create a thin layer.
- 7. Cook the crepes briefly on both sides and stack them on top of each other.
- 8. To prepare the sauce, melt the butter in a pan, add the sugar and mix.
- 9. Add orange juice and peel and boil a few minute.
- 10. When the sauce thickens slightly, fold the crepes into four, place them in the pan, and ensure they are completely covered with the sauce.
- 11. Allow them to absorb the aroma by turning them inside 1–2 minutes sauce.
- 12. Sift powdered sugar over the crepes you have placed on the serving plate and serve hot.
