Semolina and Banana Roll Dessert
A stylish, delicious, and easy-to-make dessert recipe.
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups milk
- 1 teacup granulated sugar
- 1 teacup semolina
- 1/2 teacup shredded coconut
- 1/2 package chocolate-flavored powdered cake frosting
- 1 banana
- Ready-made chocolate sauce
Preparation
- To make the semolina and banana roll dessert, first pour 2½ glasses of milk into a small, deep saucepan.
- Add 1 tea glass of granulated sugar, 1 tea glass of semolina, and ½ tea glass of shredded coconut.
- Place the saucepan on the stove. Cook the semolina pudding, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil.
- Once the semolina pudding comes to a boil, reduce the heat. Cook over low heat for about 5 more minutes until it thickens. Once the pudding is cooked, remove it from the heat. Let it cool on the side, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, for the cream: Place half a package of chocolate-flavored powdered pastry cream into a bowl. Pour 1 tea glass of milk over it.
- Beat with a mixer until it reaches a thick consistency.
- Next, lay out plastic wrap on the countertop. Place the cooled semolina pudding on the plastic wrap.
- Cover it with another layer of plastic wrap and roll it out with a rolling pin so it’s not too thick.
- Spread the chocolate pastry cream over the rolled-out pudding.
- Place 1 banana on one edge of the dessert.
- Use the plastic wrap to roll it up into a log.
- Wrap the prepared semolina-banana roll tightly in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 3–4 hours. If desired, you can also prepare it the night before and store it in the refrigerator.
- Remove the semolina-banana roll from the refrigerator and place it on a serving plate. Pour ready-made chocolate sauce over it. Garnish with pistachios or shredded coconut, and serve.
