A practical recipe that you can whip up in no time—no need to spend hours in the kitchen—that will leave a lasting impression on your palate and is so delicious it rivals the real thing.
Ingredients
- 24 cat's tongue cookies
- 1 liter of milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of cornstarch
- 1 packet of vanilla
- 2 packets of whipped cream mix
- 1 cup of cold milk
- 1 packet of ready-made chocolate sauce
Preparation
- To make fake profiteroles, pour 1 liter of milk into a deep pot. Add 2 egg yolks to the milk.
- Then, add 1 water glass of granulated sugar, 1 water glass of flour, and half a water glass of cornstarch to the pot, and mix well. The water glass measurement I use in this recipe is 200 ml.
- Next, place the saucepan on the stove. Cook, stirring constantly, until the cream thickens to a thick consistency. The cream will become quite thick, so don’t worry if it seems too thick. Then, add 1 packet of vanilla to the cream and stir. Let the cream cool completely.
- Meanwhile, place 2 packets of whipped cream powder into a deep bowl. Pour 1 glass of cold milk over it. Using a mixer, beat well until frothy, then set aside in the refrigerator to chill.
- Add the whipped cream you prepared and set aside to the cream you made earlier.
- Using a mixer on high speed, beat well for about 5 minutes.
- For the chocolate sauce: Place 1 package of ready-made chocolate sauce in a small saucepan. Pour 2½ glasses of milk over it and place the pan on the stove.
- Cook the chocolate sauce, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil. Once cooked, let it cool, stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming on top.
- Break each of the 24 ladyfinger cookies into 4–5 pieces and add them to the prepared cream.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a spatula.
- Place the cat’s tongue biscuit mixture into a large square or round baking dish and spread it out evenly. You can also use a springform pan if you prefer. Finally, pour the cooled chocolate sauce over the mixture and spread it evenly. Then let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 5–6 hours.
- You can decorate the top of your faux profiterole dessert as desired, slice it, and serve.
