Almond Pare (They Say It’s a Rival to Şeker Pare—I Say Give It a Try)? This recipe and...
Ingredients
- 125 grams margarine (or butter)
- 1 tea glass vegetable oil (125 measure)
- 2 eggs, plus 1 egg yolk (for the topping)
- 1 tea glass shredded coconut
- 1 tea glass semolina
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- Half a tea glass of sugar
- 3 water glasses of flour (250 ml)
- Almonds
- 3 water glasses of water
- 1 slice of lemon
Preparation
- To make this, first let’s prepare the syrup: Add all the ingredients to a pot, place it on the stove, and bring to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, add the lemon, boil for 15 minutes, then remove from the heat and let it cool.
- Now let’s make the dough. In a mixing bowl, first add the fats and sugar, and mix well. Then add the semolina, coconut, egg, vanilla, and baking powder, and mix until combined.
- Next, add the flour and knead into a medium-soft dough. Tear off pieces slightly larger than a walnut, shape them into ovals, and arrange them on a greased baking sheet.
- Lightly dip them in almonds, brush with egg yolk, and bake in a preheated 180-degree oven until golden brown on top and bottom.
- Once they’ve cooled slightly, pour the cold syrup over them. After they’ve absorbed the syrup, garnish and serve—they taste wonderful.
