Ingredients
- 1 package of baklava phyllo dough
- 1 glass of sugar
- 1 glass of vegetable oil
- 1 glass of semolina
- 5 eggs
- 400 gr liquid cream
- 2 packets of baking powder
- 2 vanilla extract
- 4 glasses of water
- 1–2 drops of lemon juice
Preparation
- First, bring the syrup to a boil.
- Once it comes to a boil, add a few drops of lemon juice, boil for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a deep bowl, beat 5 eggs with sugar until frothy.
- Then add all the ingredients and mix again.
- The mixture should have the consistency of cake batter. Place 20 sheets of baklava phyllo dough in a baking dish.
- Trim the excess from the long sides, then place one sheet at a time, spooning a ladleful of the prepared sauce onto each layer and spreading it evenly throughout.
- Continue this process until you have 20 layers.
- Place the last 4 sheets on top (do not add sauce between these last 4 sheets).
- Pour the 1 tea glass of reserved sauce over the top sheet and bake in a 180-degree oven.
- As soon as it’s golden brown, remove it from the oven and pour the syrup over it immediately.
