Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup water
- 3 eggs
- 125 g butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil
- Powdered sugar
- Cinnamon
- Chocolate sauce
- 150 ml water
- 90 g 80% dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Preparation
- 1. Place the water, butter, and salt in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- 2. Add the flour, reduce the heat to low, and cook, stirring constantly, until the flour forms a ball.
- 3. Remove the dough from the heat and transfer it to a glass bowl.
- 4. Let it cool for a while.
- 5. Add the eggs one at a time to the cooled dough and mix with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula.
- 6. Add the eggs one at a time to prevent them from cooking.
- 7. Once an egg is fully incorporated into the dough, add the next one; repeat this process for the last egg.
- 8. Once you have a soft and slightly sticky dough, transfer it to a pastry bag fitted with a round tip.
- 9. Heat the sunflower oil in a deep skillet.
- 10. Pipe the dough into the oil in the desired length or ring shape, then cut it with your fingers.
- 11. Fry until golden brown.
- 12. Drain the oil using a slotted spoon and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
- 13. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the hot pastries, drizzle with the prepared chocolate sauce, and serve.
- 14. For the chocolate sauce: Combine the powdered sugar and water in a saucepan.
- 15. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- 16. Add the chocolate and cocoa, stir until the chocolate is completely melted, then remove from the heat.
- 17. Let the sauce cool, stirring occasionally.
- 18. Transfer it to a jar, seal it tightly to keep out air, and store for up to two weeks.
- 19. If you’d like a thicker sauce, you can increase the amount of chocolate by 20 g.
