Apple Etimek Dessert? This recipe and...
Ingredients
- 1 package of unsalted breadcrumbs
- 1 tea glass of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of water
- 1 water glass of water
- 1 liter of milk
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon of butter
- 1 packet of vanilla
- A pinch of salt
- 4–5 medium red apples
- 2 water glasses of water
Preparation
- Arrange the bread slices side by side in a rectangular baking dish.
- For the caramel sauce, place granulated sugar and one teaspoon of water in a small saucepan and melt the sugar over medium heat.
- When it begins to turn brown, turn off the heat and pour 1 glass of water over it.
- The sugar, which first hardens and then caramelizes, will dissolve in the water. Pour this mixture over the bread slices.
- Peel the apples and remove the cores.
- Slice them into rings and place them in a saucepan.
- Add the granulated sugar and water, then cook over medium heat until the apples are tender.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- For the custard, place the sugar, cornstarch, and flour in a saucepan; first, dissolve them with a little milk to prevent lumps.
- Then add the remaining milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- Add the butter just before removing from the heat, then turn off the heat. At this stage, beat the mixture with a mixer for about 10 minutes to create a light, frothy custard and to help it cool.
- Arrange the cooled apple slices on top of the etimek, which have been soaked in caramel sauce.
- Pour the prepared custard sauce over the apple-topped bread slices.
- Once it reaches room temperature, place it in the refrigerator. It should chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Afterward, you can serve it sprinkled with hazelnuts, coconut, and pistachios.
