Ingredients
- 3 pieces medium sized quince
- 1 piece large pomegranate
- 12 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tea glass water
- Clotted cream
Preparation
- For making pomegranate quince dessert; first, peel a large 1 piece pomegranate well and set aside. Then, put a sufficient amount of water into a deep bowl. Squeeze plenty of lemon into it. After that, cut a medium-sized 3 pieces quince in half. Remove the seeds in the middle of the quince with the help of a knife. Because the seeds will give the quinces a red color and a jelly-like consistency.
- After removing the seeds of the quinces, peel their skins well. Place each peeled quince slice into lemon water so they do not darken. Also set aside some of the quince skins.
- On the other hand, strain the water from the quinces you have soaked in lemon water, and place them into a pot where they can fit comfortably. Distribute their own seeds into the middle part of each quince slice. Also, place the quince peels into the empty parts in the pot.
- Then, place plenty of the peeled pomegranate seeds on top of each quince and in the gaps between them.
- Then, place 2 heaped tablespoons granulated sugar on each quince slice. That is, you will have placed a total of 12 tablespoons granulated sugar. The amount of sugar can vary depending on the size of the quince. If your quinces are very large, you can increase the amount of sugar.
- Finally, pour 1 tea glass water over the figs. You can add more water up to half tea glass if desired.
- Place the pot on the stove. Close the lid of the pot, and leave it to boil over high heat. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat.
- Cook 50-55 minutes until the quinces soften. The cooking time may vary depending on the type of quince. Therefore, it is useful to be careful. To ensure the tops of the quinces take color evenly during cooking, occasionally pour plenty of the syrup over them. To understand the softness of the quinces, you can check by inserting the tip of the knife.
- After the quinces have softened nicely and the syrup has reached a jelly-like consistency, remove from the heat and leave to cool at room temperature. Transfer your prepared pomegranate quince dessert to a serving plate. You can pour a little of the syrup from the pot over them and serve accompanied by clotted cream or whipped cream.
