With its layered dough and walnut filling, it tastes like a complete holiday feast.
Ingredients
- 1 piece egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup olive oil
- 125 g margarine
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1/2 packet baking powder
- 6 cups flour
- 1 cup starch
- 125 g butter
- 2,5 cups water
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 4 drops lemon juice
- 2 cups crushed walnuts
Preparation
- For Dilber dudağı dessert; first, put 2 and a half cups water and 3 cups granulated sugar into a deep pot. Stir continuously until your syrup boils. After it starts boiling, lower the heat and add 4-5 drops lemon juice on top. Continue to boil for 20 minutes. After your syrup is ready, take it off the heat and let it cool. For the dough of the dessert; crack 1 piece eggs into a deep bowl. On top, add 1 cup milk, 1 cup olive oil and 125 g margarine at room temperature.
- Then, gradually add 1 tablespoon vinegar, half packet baking powder and 6 cups flour to the bowl.
- Knead until you obtain a soft dough that does not stick to your hands. Divide the dough you kneaded into 30 equal pieces, roll them in your hands, and set them aside. Then, cover them and let them rest for half hour.
- Roll out an equal part of the rested dough 15 to the size of a plate, sprinkling starch one by one. Sprinkle starch between each dough you roll out and stack them on top of each other. Apply the same process to the other separated 15 piece of dough.
- Then, take the stacked 15 pieces of dough and roll them out in all directions using a rolling pin. Expand the dough to the size of a medium-sized tray, ensuring it is not too thin.
- Cut circles from the dough you have opened using one tea glass or a round mold.
- Put crushed walnuts inside each round piece you cut.
- Fold it in half without pressing the dough too hard. Place them in the tray by pressing the walnut parts together with the tops facing up.
- For the top of the Dilber dudağı dessert; put 125 g margarine or butter into a pan and melt it. Pour half cup olive oil over the melted fat and mix. Pour this oily mixture you prepared generously over the dessert.
- Place in a preheated 200 degrees oven and bake until the top is nicely browned. After baking, remove from the oven and let it cool.
- Finally, the consistency of the syrup you prepared at the beginning will be quite thick.
- Pour the syrup, which has reached the desired consistency and cooled down, little by little over the cooled dilber dudağı dessert.
- Dilber dudağı dessert, you can serve it after it has absorbed the syrup.
