Etimek Dessert (Caramelized with Syrup)

Etimek Dessert (Caramelized with Syrup)? This recipe, which appears in the cookbooks of thousands of people, and...

Ingredients
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 packet of vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of margarine
  • 2.5 glasses of water
  • 1 packet of whipped cream
Preparation
  1. Let’s start by making the caramelized syrup.
  2. Pour 2 glasses of sugar into a saucepan. Stir occasionally over low heat.
  3. The sugar will begin to melt and caramelize.
  4. Once it’s caramelized (it will turn brown), slowly pour 2.5 cups of water over it.
  5. The sugar will harden at this point, but don’t worry. Once the water starts to boil, the hardened sugar will melt. Remove it from the heat once it’s bubbling vigorously. Our caramelized syrup is ready. (If you like, you can add 3 drops of lemon juice before turning off the heat; I don’t use it.)
  6. While waiting 2–3 minutes for the syrup to cool slightly, arrange your etimek in a rectangular baking dish.
  7. The baking dish holds 12 etimek.
  8. Using a ladle, evenly pour the caramelized syrup you prepared over the top.
  9. Now let’s start preparing the custard.
  10. Pour 1 liter of milk into a deep saucepan. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar, 6 tablespoons of flour, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch.
  11. Stir constantly and cook until it reaches a thick consistency.
  12. Just before removing it from the heat, add 1 packet of vanilla and 1 tablespoon of margarine, then stir.
  13. Turn off the heat. I beat it with a mixer for about 3–4 minutes to thicken it a bit more.
  14. Then pour it over the ladyfingers and let it cool.
  15. Finally, place 1 package of whipped cream and 1 glass of milk in a bowl.
  16. Beat with a mixer until thickened.
  17. Once it reaches a thick consistency, refrigerate it. After the pudding has cooled, pour the whipped cream over it.
  18. If you pour the whipped cream on before the pudding has cooled, it will melt on top and look unappealing.
  19. Let the etimek dessert you’ve prepared chill in the refrigerator for 4–5 hours.
  20. Then, you can garnish it with walnuts or hazelnuts and serve.
