Fındıklı Hira Dessert? This recipe, which appears in the cookbooks of dozens of people, and...
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 teacup vegetable oil
- 1 teacup yogurt
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 cup flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
- Semolina
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
Preparation
- First, let’s prepare the syrup for the dessert.
- Combine the sugar and water in a bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- We’re not going to boil the syrup.
- Next, to make the dough, combine the egg, yogurt, semolina, and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl and stir.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla, then knead.
- Take walnut-sized pieces of dough, flatten them in your hand, place a hazelnut in the center, and shape them into balls. (I didn’t chop the hazelnuts too finely so they’d still be noticeable when you bite into them.)
- Place semolina in another bowl, coat the prepared sweets in the semolina, and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in a 180-degree oven until golden brown on top and bottom.
- After removing them from the oven, let them sit for about 5 minutes, then pour all of the cold syrup over them.
- Let them rest for about 1 hour before serving. They’re very light and delicious—I highly recommend them to everyone. Enjoy, and may it bring you health and well-being.
