Ashura in a Cauldron? Of the Ashura Recipe in a Cauldron.
Ingredients
- 1 kg wheat for aşure
- Half a kilo of chickpeas
- Half a kilo of beans
- 200 g dried apricot
- 200 g raisins
- 200 g hazelnut
- 150 g currants
- 2 pieces orange zest
- 1 cup rice
- 2 kg granulated sugar
- 200 g white sesame
- 250 g walnut
- 80 g coconut
- 2 pieces pomegranate
Preparation
- Soak the chickpeas and beans overnight, boil them in the morning and keep them in a bowl, then put the wheat in a pot and cook until the grains pop.
- Add boiled chickpeas, beans, and rice on top of the cooked wheat. Since you added these, your water has decreased, so add 4 liters boiling water into it. If your ashura water is thick, you can add a little more water.
- After boiling for a while, we add the dried apricots, currants, and raisins that we previously soaked in water.
- After boiling with these for a while, we add the orange zest, hazelnuts, white sesame, and our sugar.
- Finally, we boil 5 minutes, turn off the heat, and leave it to rest. You can decorate and serve it as you wish.
