Bread Pudding with Orange Sauce
A delicious and easy dessert recipe featuring the pleasant aroma and scent of oranges.
Ingredients
- 10 unsalted breadsticks
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
- 1.5 cups water
- 2 drops lemon juice
- 3 cups milk
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 3 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 packet vanilla
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
Preparation
- Arrange 10 unsalted etimek side by side in a medium-sized rectangular baking dish.
- Using a ladle, pour the hot syrup you prepared evenly over them. Set them aside so the etimek can absorb the syrup thoroughly.
- For the custard: Pour 3 cups of milk into a deep saucepan. Add 1 egg yolk, 3 tablespoons of flour, 1 teacup of granulated sugar, and 3 teaspoons of cornstarch, then whisk thoroughly.
- Place the pot on the stove. Cook, stirring constantly, until it reaches a thick consistency.
- Once the custard is cooked, add 1 packet of vanilla and 1 tablespoon of butter, then stir. Let the prepared custard sit for about 2 minutes to cool slightly.
- Then pour the custard over the syrup-soaked etimek.
- Use a spatula to spread the pudding evenly.
- For the orange sauce: In a small saucepan, combine 2 water glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly. Then remove from the heat and let it cool for 1–2 minutes.
- Pour the prepared orange sauce over the etimek pudding.
- Let the dessert cool to room temperature. Then, let it set in the refrigerator for at least 3–4 hours.
- Slice the etimek dessert with orange sauce and serve it cold.
