A dessert recipe that absorbs the syrup like a sponge, has the perfect consistency, will leave its mark on your palate with its softness, is quite easy to make and very delicious.
Ingredients
- 4 pieces egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 piece grated orange peel
- 1,5 cups flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla
- 4 cups water
- 4 drops lemon juice
Preparation
- To make orange revani, first prepare the syrup. Put 3 and a half cups granulated sugar into a medium-sized pot.
- Put 4 cups water and 4 drops lemon juice over the sugar, and place the pot on the stove.
- Stir the syrup continuously until the sugar dissolves, then leave it to boil. After the syrup boils, lower the heat slightly and boil for 15 minutes more. Then, remove the syrup from the heat and leave it to cool at room temperature. The cup measurement I used in the recipe is 200 ml.
- For the dough of the orange revani dessert; crack the 4 pieces eggs at room temperature into a deep bowl. Add 1 cups of 1 fingers less granulated sugar over the eggs.
- Whisk the sugar and eggs thoroughly with the help of a mixer until they foam.
- Then pour 1 cup yogurt, 1 cup liquid oil and 2 tablespoons squeezed orange juice into the bowl, and mix again with a mixer.
- Then add 1 cup semolina to the mixture.
- Then add 1 piece orange zest as well.
- Finally, add 1 packet baking powder, 1 packet vanilla and 1 and a half cups flour by sifting.
- Mix all ingredients lightly one last time with a mixer. If the consistency of the dough is liquid, you can add flour little by little.
- On the other hand, grease the inside of the large square borcam well with vegetable oil.
- Pour the orange revani dough you prepared into the baking dish. Spread the dough evenly using a spatula.
- Bake in a preheated 170 degrees oven. Bake the dessert on the bottom rack of the oven for approximately 35-40 minutes until the bottom and top are browned. You can test whether the dessert is cooked or not by inserting a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean, it means it is cooked.
- After the Revani dessert is cooked, take it out of the oven and wait for 5 minutes. Then, slice it into your desired size using a knife.
- Then, pour the cooled syrup gradually over the dessert. The syrup is the exact amount for the dessert. Neither too little nor too much. Wait until the dessert absorbs the syrup and cools down.
- You can serve the orange revani dessert after it has absorbed the syrup and cooled down completely, decorating the top as you wish.
