A recipe for a syrup-soaked dessert that’s perfect for any table—elegant in presentation, soft as Turkish delight, and absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
- 125 g butter
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 1 tea glass semolina
- 1 tea glass ground walnuts
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1.5 water glasses flour
- 2.5 water glasses water
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 drops lemon juice
Preparation
- To make tahinpare, first prepare the syrup and set it aside to cool. Put 2 cups of granulated sugar in a saucepan.
- Add 2½ cups of water and 4–5 drops of lemon juice to the sugar. Place the syrup on the stove and stir until the sugar dissolves. Then, bring the syrup to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, simmer the syrup over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes. Then remove it from the heat and let it cool. The measuring cup used in this recipe holds 200 ml. A tea cup holds 110 ml.
- In a separate deep bowl, place 125 g of room-temperature butter. Crack 1 egg into it.
- Next, add 1 tea glass of semolina, 1 tea glass of ground walnuts, and 2 tablespoons of tahini to the bowl.
- Finally, gradually add 1 dessert spoon of baking powder, 1 tea spoon of vanilla, and 1½ water glasses of flour to the bowl.
- Knead until you have a soft dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
- Take walnut-sized pieces from the prepared dough and roll them into smooth balls with your hands.
- Using a knife, lightly press down on each ball to create fine grooves.
- Then arrange them in a greased baking dish, leaving space between them.
- Bake in a preheated 175-degree oven. Bake for about 30–35 minutes, until the top and bottom are nicely browned.
- Then remove the dessert from the oven and let it cool for about 2 minutes to allow the initial heat to subside. Next, pour the cold syrup evenly over the top. Let the dessert cool completely until it has absorbed the syrup.
- You can serve the tahinpare dessert garnished with crushed walnuts or ground green pistachios.
