Ingredients
- 1 piece large size egg
- 240 g granulated sugar
- 200 ml milk
- 100 ml vegetable oil
- 300 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 dessert spoon lemon zest
- 200 g strawberry
Preparation
- First, wash the strawberries well without removing their stems and dry them, then cut the small ones in half and the large ones into quarters.
- Grease and flour a cake mold with a diameter of 22-24 (it can be a high tart mold with a removable bottom or a springform/non-springform mold. If you wish, you can also use a rectangular mold) or you can lay parchment paper after greasing the mold to guarantee it won't stick.
- Start heating in the oven 180 degrees at the top/bottom position.
- Take the egg and sugar into a mixing bowl, and whisk by gradually increasing the mixer speed for approximately 3 minutes until the mixture turns white and reaches a creamy consistency.
- Stop the mixer, add the milk and liquid oil, and mix at the lowest speed. Add the salt and the lemon zest if you are going to use it.
- Mix the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl, and add half of it to the dough by sifting first.
- After mixing for a short time at low speed, add the remaining half by sifting, and mix at the lowest speed until the flour disappears and then stop.
- Transfer the dough to the cake mold you prepared beforehand, then after placing all the strawberries on top, push some of them well into the dough to embed them.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar or finely ground granulated sugar lightly over the strawberries with your hands, and bake in your preheated oven for approximately 45-50 minutes.
- Depending on the performance of your oven, make sure to do a toothpick test every 45. minutes. Before serving, you can sprinkle a little more powdered sugar on top if you wish.
