A very easy dessert recipe that soaks up the syrup beautifully, has a crispy texture, and will leave a lasting impression on your palate.
Ingredients
- 125 g butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup semolina
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1.5 cups flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 4 drops lemon juice
Preparation
- To make Irmikpare dessert, start by preparing the syrup. In a medium-sized, deep pot, combine 2 cups of granulated sugar, 2 cups of water, and 4 drops of lemon juice.
- Then place the pot on the stove and stir until the sugar dissolves. Next, bring the syrup to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, let it simmer over medium heat for about 10 more minutes. Then remove it from the heat and let it cool. The measuring cup used in this recipe holds 200 ml.
- For the Irmikpare dough: Place 125 g of room-temperature butter in a deep bowl. Crack 1 egg into it.
- Next, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar, half a water glass of semolina, and half a water glass of finely ground hazelnuts.
- Then, gradually add 1 packet of baking powder and 1½ water glasses of flour.
- Knead until you have a soft dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
- Divide the prepared dough into 14 equal pieces and roll each one into a ball with your hands.
- Shape each ball into a cylinder and press down lightly.
- Then, use a knife to score fine lines on the surface of the dough.
- Next, arrange them in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each piece.
- Bake in a preheated 175-degree oven for about 40–45 minutes, or until the top and bottom are nicely browned.
- Then remove the dessert from the oven and pour the cold syrup evenly over it. Let it cool completely until it has absorbed the syrup.
- Transfer the prepared hazelnut semolina dessert to a serving plate. Sprinkle with ground pistachios and serve.
