Ingredients
- 150 grams of cream
- 100 grams of butter
- 12 walnuts
- 1 glass of milk
- 150 grams of granulated sugar
- 1 coffee cup of molasses
- 1 egg
Preparation
- Once the clotted cream and butter have melted, add the sifted flour without bringing it to a boil.
- Stir with the back of a spoon until there are no lumps. (The flour should give off a raw smell.)
- Once it turns golden brown, toast for another 2–3 minutes, then add coarsely chopped walnuts.
- In a separate bowl, to make the milk syrup: beat the eggs and sugar with a wire whisk until the mixture turns white.
- Add milk and molasses, and continue whisking for a while longer.
- You can turn off the heat while pouring in the syrup to prevent splattering.
- The mixture may seem runny at first, but it will reach the perfect consistency once the flour has fully absorbed the liquid.
- After adding the syrup, turn the heat back on and continue the toasting process for a while longer.
- Once the syrup has been fully absorbed, transfer the mixture to a serving plate, top with walnuts, and serve.
