A recipe for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth cake that everyone—young and old—will absolutely love.
Ingredients
- 100 g butter (at room temperature)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1 package whipped cream mix
- 1/2 cup cold milk
Preparation
- To make a cake burger, place 100 g of room-temperature butter in a deep bowl. Add 1 glass of granulated sugar.
- Beat the sugar and butter together with a mixer. Then crack in 1 egg and continue beating with the mixer.
- Next, add 1 glass of milk to the mixture and beat again.
- Finally, add 3 tablespoons of cocoa, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 2 cups of flour to the mixture. Mix with the mixer.
- The consistency of the batter will be thicker than regular cake batter but runnier than cookie dough. If it’s too stiff, you can add 1–2 tablespoons of milk. If it’s not stiff enough, you can add flour little by little.
- Place the cake burger (sandwich cake) batter you’ve prepared into a pastry bag. Cut the tip with scissors. Pipe the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in mounds slightly larger than a walnut, spacing them 2–3 cm apart.
- Once you’ve finished piping, lightly dampen the back of a dessert spoon and use it to smooth the tops of the mounds.
- Then place them in an oven preheated to 170 degrees.
- Bake the sandwich cake batter for 10 minutes.
- The tops of the cakes will be soft, like cake.
- Meanwhile, for the cake burger filling: Place 1 packet of whipped cream mix into a bowl. Pour half a glass of cold milk over it and whip with a mixer.
- Next, take one of the baked cakes.
- Spoon the cream into the center of the cake.
- Cover the cream with another cake. Press down gently to seal them together. Let the cake burgers (cake sandwiches) rest for about 1 hour.
- You can now serve the cake burgers. If desired, you can use homemade cream or ganache instead of whipped cream between the cake layers.
