Ingredients
  • 100 g butter at room temperature
  • 1 tea glass vegetable oil
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 tea glass granulated sugar
  • 1 tea glass semolina
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 2,5 cups flour
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 drops lemon juice
Preparation
  1. In making finger dessert; first prepare the syrup. Add 2 and a half cups granulated sugar and 3 cups water into a medium-sized deep pot, and place it on the stove. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves, and leave it to boil. After the syrup boils, pour 3-4 drops lemon juice into it. Boil for approximately 6-7 minutes more. Then, remove the syrup from the stove and let it cool.
  2. For the dough of semolina finger dessert; put 100 g butter and 1 tea glass liquid oil into a deep bowl. Crack 1 piece egg on top.
  3. Then add 1 tea glass powdered sugar, 1 tea glass semolina, 1 packet vanilla and 1 packet baking powder to the bowl, and mix all the ingredients well.
  4. Then add 2 and a half cups flour to the bowl little by little.
  5. Knead until you obtain a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.
  6. Take pieces approximately the size of a walnut from the dough you have prepared, roll them in your palm, and shape them into cylinders.
  7. Then put 5 tablespoons semolina in a plate. Coat each of the shaped doughs all over in the semolina.
  8. Arrange them at intervals inside a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  9. Put the dessert in a preheated 180 degrees oven. Bake for approximately 20 minutes until the tops are lightly browned.
  10. After the finger dessert is cooked, take it out of the oven and let it rest for approximately 5 minutes until the initial heat dissipates.
  11. Meanwhile, place the semolina desserts into a slightly smaller tray.
  12. Then, pour the cold syrup over the dessert, spreading it.
  13. Let the dessert absorb the syrup, and wait until it is completely cooled.
  14. You can decorate the top of the semolina finger dessert you prepared with green pistachio powder or coconut, and serve it.
