Ingredients
50 grams of butter
Half a glass of water
Half a glass of flour
A pinch of salt
A teaspoon of sugar
2 eggs
2 glasses of milk
1 egg yolk
1 teacup of granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
1.5 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla
Half a package of powdered whipped cream
Preparation
First, prepare the dough. Combine water and butter in a pot. Once the water-and-butter mixture comes to a boil, add salt and granulated sugar and stir. Then add flour to form the dough. Cook the dough for a minute or two, then set it aside to cool. Add the eggs one at a time to the cooled dough, working each one in thoroughly.
Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in 1-finger-thick strips.
Bake in a preheated 200-degree oven for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 150 degrees and bake for another 20 minutes.
Once baked, turn off the oven and let the pastries rest inside with the oven door open.
For the cream filling, combine all ingredients except vanilla and whipped cream powder in a saucepan and cook on the stove until thickened. Add vanilla to the cooked cream and stir. Set aside to cool. Once cooled, add the whipped cream powder and beat until stiff peaks form.
Pipe the cream into the pastries and dip their tops into chocolate melted in a double boiler. Garnish with pistachios or melted chocolate.
