Meet our softest, most fragrant recipe you’ve ever tasted. Here it is: the chocolate cotton cake recipe! Thank you in advance for making it.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons chocolate cream
Preparation
- Carefully separate the egg yolks from the whites.
- Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites and beat on low speed for 1 minute.
- Then, gradually add half the sugar (half a glass) and continue beating on high speed until the egg whites form stiff peaks.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with the remaining half of the sugar.
- Add the vegetable oil and continue mixing.
- Add the milk and continue mixing.
- Finally, sift in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and vanilla. Mix with the mixer for 1 minute. You’ll end up with a thick cake batter. If desired, add the chocolate cream and mix until smooth.
- Add the egg whites one spoonful at a time to the cake batter and fold in gently with a spatula, moving from the bottom up. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites at this stage. Stop mixing once all the ingredients are combined.
- Grease a large cake pan with vegetable oil or melted butter. Then, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cocoa into the pan and spread it evenly. Pour the cake batter into the pan.
- Bake in a preheated 170-degree oven for about 30–40 minutes, checking periodically. After 40 minutes, test with a toothpick; if needed, bake for a longer time.
- Remove from the oven, let cool to room temperature, then slice and serve.
- You can decorate the top however you like!
