Original Tiramisu in a Cup (With a Quick Video)
Authentic Tiramisu in a Cup (With a Quick Video)? This recipe, which is in thousands of people’s cookbooks, and...
Ingredients
- 3 very fresh eggs
- 100 g powdered sugar (3/4 cup—half a cup plus a quarter cup)
- 500 g mascarpone (2 cups)
- 250 g ladyfinger cookies (usually 1 package)
- 1 water glass of strong coffee (I recommend espresso, but Nescafé is fine if you don’t have any)
- 4 tbsp cocoa
Preparation
- Add the mascarpone to the egg yolks and whisk lightly just until combined. If you whisk too much, the mixture will become watery.
- Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the cheese mixture in 3–4 batches using a spatula, working from the bottom up (without deflating the mixture).
- Prepare 1 glass of espresso, or add 3 tbsp of Nescafé to 1 glass of boiling water.
- Dip 6–7 cat’s tongue cookies into the coffee for 3–5 seconds, then arrange them side by side at the bottom of 6–7 cups or jars.
- Spread the cream on top, sprinkle with cocoa, and repeat this process to create two layers.
- If you like, you can pipe the top layer of cream using a pastry bag.
- Garnish the top of the cream with cocoa powder.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 12 hours.
